AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who is captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the highest level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan rapinoe from 2018 until 2020. [8][98][9] Morgan was selected number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. She made her professional debut and played in the team's win of the league title. Morgan was just 22 at the time, was the youngest player of the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, in which the team finished second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final match against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She was second in the United States to have 20 goals and 21 assists for 2012, which made her the youngest and sixth most prolific player in the country to achieve 20 goals in a single year. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was named a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was selected to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
