Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American performer and actor who began her career with innovative raps which addressed gender and ethnic identities from a an edgy, comical perspective. Then she branched out to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical journey as a trumpet player. Her birthplace was Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants and Koreans. Also, she received the classical and jazz education later delving into hip-hop as a teenager. Concentrating on school she majored in journalism, and women's studies at college, even studying Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. Not until after graduation did she start focusing on music. After gaining viral fame through the Internet, her song My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually was included on the album she released, Yellow Ranger. The album also featured hit songs that went viral, such as the body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC BitcheUSD. The latter track connected directly with another Awkwafina project NYC Travel Guide, which was published in 2015. She decided to pursue acting careers after having completed her two previous endeavors, author and musician. Alongside early TV shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies such as Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018 she scored a number of major roles like Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. In June she debuted her debut film, In Fina We Trust.
